My infatuation with the Harley-Davidson Sportster

Apr. 6 2023 News By Don Mitchell

My infatuation with the Harley-Davidson Sportster began when I was very young. I was just a wee lad when actor Michael Parks starred in an NBC television series called “Then Came Bronson” that featured a 1969 XLH Harley-Davidson Sportster. That bike was in my mind, the coolest thing I’d ever seen... and for 26 episodes, the adventures that Bronson (Parks) experienced on two wheels left me with an insatiable desire to do the same. By the time I was 16, I had my first Sportster and my own Sporty life was set in motion. It’s a life that continues to this day.

All of this to help you understand why I am excited about the next evolution and more specifically the 2023 Nightster™ Special. This bike brings Sportster into the “now” while retaining the classic Sportster silhouette and most importantly... that cool Sportster vibe!

One look at the lines and there’s no doubt a connection with history... but it’s way more than that. Nightster™ Special is powered by the Revolution MAX 975, a liquid-cooled V-Twin tuned to make tremendous torque at low RPM, with a torque curve that stays flat through the powerband. And three ride modes are available to accommodate the rider. Road, Rain, and Sport.

Conveniences like a USB charging port, Standard Cruise Control, Bluetooth connectivity, a 4” round thin-film transistor LCD display make your riding experience more enjoyable and the great looking “1970’s vibe” medallion on the airbox cover keeps you firmly planted in historical cool!

Take a look at the pictures here and then schedule your test ride!!
